SAFAR-Air

The SAFAR (System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research) is a project of Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India having distinction to develop India’s first ever Air Quality Forecasting system SAFAR for Metro cities. This is the 2nd version /Update of the MobileApp where based on the feedback and public demand, following new features are added:

(1) It has been made Multi-lingual. Languages are English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati –spoken in 4 SAFAR cities.

(2) An excellent feature of Voice service is added which can be listened by clicking the speaker button.

(3) The detailed advisory and precautions are added. To make it more attractive, an animated Flag boy is added who will change the color of flag based on the quality of air from Green to Maroon. The expression of boy will also change and Flag gets lifted up as Air Quality worsens.

Many of you raised an issue as to why this service is available in just 4 cities and not in other cities. I share your concern and deeply appreciate. However, expanding such services requires lot of financial resources and time. One SAFAR station requires minimum cost towards 10 AQMS, 10 AWS, super computer cost for forecast, emission inventory cost, outreach cost and so on. Depending on priority, projects are approved. We expect to expand it in future but not in near future as it stands.

सफ़र (वायु गुणवत्ता की प्रणाली और मौसम पूर्वानुमान और अनुसंधान) पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार की एक परियोजना है। भारत के मेट्रो शहरों के लिए भारत के पहले कभी वायु गुणवत्ता पूर्वानुमान प्रणाली सफ़र विकसित करने के लिए अंतर हो सकता है। यह 2 संस्करण / mobileapp का अद्यतन जहां प्रतिक्रिया और जनता की मांग, नई सुविधाओं निम्नलिखित के आधार पर जोड़ा जाता है:

(1) यह बहुभाषी किया गया है। बोली अंग्रेजी, हिंदी, मराठी और गुजराती 4 सफ़र शहरों में -spoken हैं।

(2) Voice सेवा जोड़ा जाता है का एक उत्कृष्ट सुविधा है जो वक्ता बटन पर क्लिक करके सुनी जा सकती है।

(3) विस्तृत सलाहकार और सावधानियों जुड़ जाते हैं। इसे और अधिक आकर्षक बनाने के लिए, एक एनिमेटेड झंडा लड़का जोड़ा जाता है जो ग्रीन से Maroon लिए हवा की गुणवत्ता के आधार पर ध्वज का रंग बदल जाएगा। लड़के की अभिव्यक्ति भी बदल जाएगा और झंडा उठाया जाता है वायु गुणवत्ता बिगड़ जाती है के रूप में।

आप में से कई लोग क्यों इस सेवा और अन्य शहरों में ही नहीं, 4 शहरों में उपलब्ध है के रूप में एक मुद्दा उठाया। मैं आपकी चिंता को साझा और गहराई से सराहना करते हैं। हालांकि, इस तरह की सेवाओं के विस्तार के वित्तीय संसाधनों और समय की बहुत आवश्यकता है। एक सफ़र स्टेशन 10 AQMS, 10 एडब्ल्यूएस की ओर कम से कम लागत, पूर्वानुमान के लिए सुपर कंप्यूटर लागत, उत्सर्जन सूची लागत, आउटरीच लागत और इतने पर की आवश्यकता है। प्राथमिकता के आधार पर, परियोजनाओं को मंजूरी दे दी जाती है। हम निकट भविष्य में भविष्य में नहीं बल्कि यह विस्तार करने के लिए के रूप में यह खड़ा है की उम्मीद है।
